why we exist
everyone is a maker.
We’re the gravitational center of the Capital Region’s making community — startups and hobbyists sharing tools, know-how, and the occasional slice of pie. Everything we do rests on three pillars.
community makerspace
One keycard, every Zone. Member events, tours, drop-ins, and a community access fund that keeps the doors open to everyone.
explore the space →hardware incubation
A NYS-certified manufacturing incubator. Prototype a physical product, get coaching, and plug into Innovate 518 partner programs.
start something →steam education
Classes for adults and the ThinQubator for kids ages 4–12 — think, tinker, and skill-build with mentors who love this stuff.
learn with us →the building

we started at the cog
makers, in their own words.
I walked in to use a 3D printer and walked out with a co-founder. Creative collisions are real — this place is where mine happened.
My kid did one ThinQubator Saturday and now our kitchen table is a soldering station. Best thing to happen to our weekends.
24/7 access to a metal shop for the price of a gym membership. I prototyped my whole first product line here at 2am.
keep the cog turning
tools, space, and a community of makers — waiting for you.
Join as a member, or chip in as a donor. Either way, you’re keeping the doors open to every maker in the Capital Region.
